Geographical Information System (GIS)-Based Master Plan for Vikrabad, Telangana

On October 21, 2024, a groundbreaking initiative began under the AMRUT scheme: a digital master plan for Vikrabad. This GIS-based plan is currently in development, with surveys already underway.

The new master plan aims to address the needs of Vikrabad for the next 30 to 40 years. One of its key objectives is to monitor illegal constructions within urban local bodies and development areas. With a population of approximately 50,000, the insights from the survey will inform the master plan, which is expected to cover critical aspects such as burial grounds, cell towers, drainage systems, housing, markets, reservoirs, roads, toilets, and water pipelines.
