Latest news on Gujarat RERA 2024
Gujarat RERA plans to eliminate the requirement for developer certification starting from the June quarter.
On May 21, 2024, Gujarat RERA made a big change that helped real estate developers in the state. Before, developers had to give lots of different certificates, like ones from architects, engineers, and accountants, and also show progress reports every three months. The developers’ group asked for this rule to be changed because it was a hassle and cost them money. So, Gujarat RERA agreed and said developers don’t need to give those certificates anymore, starting from the next three months. They also made a new website to give more details about projects.
A large majority, around 70%, of the cases filed with Gujarat RERA have been resolved. Ahmedabad has the highest number of cases filed compared to other places.
As of May 16, 2024, Gujarat RERA has resolved more than 70% of the cases filed within the last 7 years. From 2017 to 2024, Gujarat RERA has worked diligently to address the concerns of both homebuyers and developers. Of all the cases filed during this period, over 50% originated from Ahmedabad. Officials from Gujarat RERA note that most cases involve issues related to compensation, revocation of RERA registration, and the removal of illegal constructions.
Interestingly, more than 15% of the cases filed with Gujarat RERA have been resolved amicably. In terms of the number of cases filed, Ahmedabad leads the list, followed by Vadodara and Surat.
In conclusion, GUJRERA’s objective is to regulate, restructure, streamline, and oversee the real estate sector. The implementation of RERA in Gujarat has led to swift resolutions of issues faced by homebuyers and investors. Additionally, it has simplified the registration process for agents and promoters, making it easier for them to register their projects on the website.
